Malcolm McLaren 1946-2010

The weather somewhat matches my sombre mood today. Last night I was playing loads of Malcolm McLaren videos on youtube (it's been 10 years since I last listened to one of his songs) only to wake up this morning to find out that Malcolm had passed away at the age of 64 in Switzerland, where he was receiving treatment for cancer.

Malcolm McLaren was a lot of things, aside from being a PR genius, he was mostly known for pioneering punk and managing the Sex Pistols. Their anti- establishment antics often landed them into trouble and sometimes jail. He also owned a shop on London's King's Road with Vivienne Westwood named SEX, which sold S&M stuff. His son with Westwood, Joe Corre is the co-founder of lingerie brand, Agent Provocateur.
I will finish this by posting a video collaboration of Malcolm McLaren and Catherine Deneuve called Paris, Paris.

RIP Malcolm, I promise to dust off your cd's from the shelf and listen to them all day today.
