Half of the population of Hong Kong (or what seemed like it) was guzzling special-edition Veuve Clicquot champagne and noshing on grilled lamb chops on Thursday night at Lane Crawford's 160th anniversary bash. The fashion tribe was out in full force, of course, and so were the try-hards. As predicted there was a parade of girls in Lanvin x H&M dresses, but we won't hold that against them- just relieved that there were no handbags thrown! Phew.
The star of the party was definitely Joey Ma, who wore a show- stopping cape like jacket teamed with matching slim fit trousers by Sasa Kovacevic, under the label SADAK. People were almost curtsying and prostrating when they spoke to him. Even bryanboy (Lanvin jacket, Pucci top and Fallon neckpiece) stopped mid-scream 'I want di- ' when he spotted Joey.
The people who run Lane Crawford definitely know how to throw a party but I hold them responsible for my hangover. Happy 160th!
